Are You Really "The Best"? Let's Talk About It.

Why Overpromising Hurts More Than It Helps: A Realistic Approach to Building Trust in the Printing Business

I receive my fair share of cold emails in the printing business, especially from our fellow printers in China. And you know what? They all seem to have the same scriptwriter. "The leading printing company in China," "the best printing factory in China," or my personal favorite, "the number one printing company in China." Really? I mean, where does this confidence come from? I don't recall Elon Musk ever emailing me to declare Tesla "the best electric car," do you?

Don't get me wrong—I'm not here to mock anyone. It's just that using these extreme superlatives can set such high expectations that you're bound to disappoint at some point. And that's not good for anyone—least of all your factory. Let me explain.

At Call2Print, we don't call ourselves "the best" at everything. We're not the go-to experts for luxury paper boxes, but hey, we can make them! We're not the kings of adhesive label printing, but guess what? We can print those too—and we'll do a solid job. See what I did there? No exaggerated claims, just honesty about what we can and cannot do. And guess what? Customers appreciate that.

So here's my unsolicited advice to every eager printer out there: Skip the "BEST," "NUMBER ONE," and "LEADING" buzzwords. Instead, focus on what you do well. Deliver quality work. Build trust. Be real. People want to work with someone genuine, not a walking, talking copy-paste sales pitch.

At the end of the day, it's not about being "the best." It's about doing your best. So, let's drop the hyperbole and focus on what really matters—doing a great job, every time. Deal?
